Test and diagnostic instruments for high-voltage power equipment.
We supply specialised test instruments and selected critical components for HV and MV power systems. Instruments are sourced from established manufacturers, selected on the basis of field use rather than catalogue specifications, and supported from Auckland — so you get the measurement right, not just the instrument delivered.
Travel, velocity, timing and contact resistance from a single operation — on SF6, vacuum, oil and GIS switchgear.
A portable analyser built around one measurement platform in ten configurations, from 6 to 12 metal contact channels. Non-contact speed measurement by high-speed imaging sensor, compatibility with linear, rotary and acceleration transducers, dual-ground options for working with earth switches closed, 2,000 stored records and an on-board printer for results before leaving site.

A distance to the fault, on ranges from 300 m to 65 km — from a pulse reflection where the fault conducts, and from the flashover transient where it only breaks down under high voltage.
Low-voltage pulse, impulse current and decay acquisition on one 10.1-inch touch instrument, with automatic ranging and waveform analysis, velocity presets for XLPE, PVC, oil-impregnated and rubber-insulated cable, and a user-defined entry for anything else. Over 8,000 waveform records stored on board and exported over USB. Blind zone ≤20 m; distance error ≤±(0.5%×L+1 m). The high-voltage modes require a separate surge generator and coupler.

The fault marked on the ground to within 0.1 m — which is the number that decides how much road you open.
Acousto-magnetic synchronisation, acoustic, magnetic and step-voltage location on one 5-inch 800 cd/m² receiver. Four filter bands with background noise reduction and mute, headphone output limited to 84 dB, route deviation indication, and an IP65 ground probe. Supplied complete with probe, headphones, A-frame, ground pins, charger and transit case. Requires an external surge generator for the acoustic and magnetic methods.

A 4 or 8 channel IEPE front end quiet enough to record the mechanical signature of HV plant — with the host interface galvanically isolated from the switchyard.
Four part numbers: 4 or 8 analog inputs, every one with 24 V / 4 mA IEPE conditioning and per-channel DC or AC coupling, in a standard or USB audio-class host version. Sample rates to 204.8 kSps at 32-bit word length, input SNR better than 116 dB and residual noise below 1.2 µVrms over a 20 kHz band. Two analog outputs for stimulus work, four DIO, counter input, reference clock in and out and an external trigger. Fanless, 12 V at under 6 W, with accelerometer, leads, supply and transit case available separately.

More instruments are being added. If you are looking for something specific for HV or MV equipment testing, tell us what you need to measure — the list is driven by what customers actually ask for.
HVPACE is the trading name of Power Asset Condition Engineering Limited, a New Zealand-based supplier of test and diagnostic instruments and selected specialty equipment — such as cable sheath voltage limiters and other low-volume, mission-critical components — for high-voltage power systems. Backed by hands-on engineering expertise, including field-tested condition assessment techniques and AI-based signal analysis, we support customers with diagnostic guidance, methodology development and fault investigation, so they get the most value from the equipment they buy.
